Canvas Mobile

Canvas Mobile is a segment of knowledge bases that surround using a device such as a cell phone to quickly access Canvas on the Canvas Application.

What Is It?

The Canvas Mobile app allows Students and Faculty to access their Canvas courses from their mobile devices.

Students and Faculty registered for courses through Canvas

Where Can I Access It?

Step 1: To get started, you need to download the Canvas Student app onto your mobile device.

1. Go to your device's app store:

   • On Android, open the Google Play Store.
   • On iOS, open the Apple App Store.

2. In the search bar, type Canvas Student.

3. Tap Install/Get to download and install the app.

Step 2: On a separate device (preferably a desktop or laptop), navigate to Canvas and log in with your Montana Tech credentials 

 

Step 3: Once logged in, select the Account tab from the left-hand navigation bar

 

Step 4: Click QR for Mobile Login 

 

Step 5: Read the message and click Proceed to view the QR code

 

Step 6: The QR code will then be visible to scan 

Note: As the small text describes, the QR visible on your screen will expire after ten minutes. If this happens, reload the page and get a new QR code

 

Step 7: Back on your mobile device, open the Canvas Student app, once you reach the login screen, choose  QR Login

Note: Be sure to enable notifications and allow the app to access your camera if it asks

 

Step 8: Scan the QR code that is visible on your other device (Step 6)

Note: If the QR code has expired, reload the page and scan the new one

 

Step 9: After scanning the QR code, you should be redirected to your Course Dashboard, where you can navigate to other sections of Canvas

Note: You can enable dark mode, like in the example above

 

Navigate Canvas Mobile Courses

Step 1: Tap the menu icon on the top-left hand corner of screen, to view files, settings, change user, or logout

 

 

Step 2: Return to the Dashboard, and tap into one of your registered courses

 

Step 3: The available tabs are identical to those available on the web version of Canvas

 

Step 4: You can then go into individual tabs and view the content within Example: Quizzes
