How to Export from Gradebook in Canvas

What Is It?

This article shows users how to export a graded column from the Canvas Gradebook into a CSV file.

Who Can Use It?

Montana Tech instructors.

Where Can I Access It?

1. Enter the course from which you would like to export grades.
2. Navigate to Grades.

3. In the top-right corner, select Export, then choose Export Entire Gradebook.

Exporting a Specific Section

After opening the Grades page in the selected Canvas course, follow these steps:

1. Filter the assignments you want to export. Note: You can also filter by student to export specific student data.

2. Select Export, then choose Export Current Gradebook View.

To open exported files in Excel or another spreadsheet application, right-click the downloaded file and select your preferred program.
