Make sure the toggle for Link Achieve to my LMS is on in the course settings, and select Canvas from the dropdown menu. If you've already created your course and need to turn it on, you can edit your course settings.

Note: You can get additional training for using Achieve or completing Canvas integration. This training is only effective after you've created your Achieve courses.
Connecting your course before setting up assignments in Achieve is highly recommended. In your Canvas course, use the left menu to navigate to Modules, then click + Module.

Name the Module and click Add Module.

Add the Macmillan LTI Advantage Course Tools to your Module.
Step 1: Click on the + symbol to add an item to the Module.

Step 2: Select External Tool from the Add drop-down menu.
Step 3: Select Macmillan LTI Advantage Course Tools from the list.
Step 4: Click the Add Item button.

Note: If you do not see Macmillan LTI Advantage Course Tools in the list here, you may be using a different type of deep integration. For more information, see the article Integrate Achieve courses with Canvas.
Click on the Macmillan LTI Advantage Course Tools link to open the tools.

Click Connect with Achieve.

After clicking Connect with Achieve, you’ll need to authorize access using the name and e-mail address associated with your Macmillan account. Click Authorize.

As you add and assign content to your Achieve course, it can also be added to your Canvas course. Learn whether to use a pre-built course or browse resources . Once items are in your Achieve course, assign them to see the option to add them to Canvas.
Adding assignments from your Achieve course creates a link to those assignments in your Canvas course. It allows grades for those assignments to sync with the Canvas gradebook if you are using Assignment-Level Integration. Using this method, you can also add ungraded or unassigned content to your course. In this case, a gradebook column will not be created.
Note: Items do not actually need to be assigned with a due date and points to be added to Canvas, but you still need to open the assign menu to select the option to add the item to Canvas.
Note: Follow the instructions to assign an Achieve item . If you are using a Section Manager with Restricted Sections, you can assign items with due dates and points in the Section Manager and these changes will carry into your sections, but adding items to Canvas must be done in each individual section course linked to Canvas.
Adding a Single Assignment to Your Canvas Course
A checkbox to sync the item with Canvas will be provided on the assignment settings screen. If the item is assigned, the checkbox will appear below the Student Visibility section.
If the item is not assigned or hidden, the checkbox will appear below the Access Settings options.

When you check the box, you will be required to select a module to sync to in Canvas or create a new module. Items must be in a module to sync to Canvas. After you select a module, click Save Changes.

Adding Multiple Assignments to Your Canvas Course
On your assignments page, select the checkboxes next to the assignments you want to sync. Then, click the LMS Sync button.

In the batch update screen, click to toggle on the LMS Sync and select a module for each activity. Then, click Save.

After you save your changes, you’ll need to complete the assignment sync by going to Canvas.
The first time you sync an item, click Go to Canvas in the pop-up window.

After the first time, click the Go to Canvas Course link in the top banner to complete the assignment sync.

Once your integration is set up, students can enroll in your Achieve course by following the instructions in the help article, Students: Register for Achieve courses via your school’s LMS .
Important notes on student enrollment:
- Advise students only to follow the instructions provided in the article above. If they see instructions on an access card or elsewhere, they will not be correct.
