What is it?
This guide provides step-by-step instructions on creating and managing rubrics in Canvas. It covers navigating to the Rubrics tab, adding a rubric, customizing criteria and ratings, and attaching rubrics to assignments. For additional support, contact details are provided.

Creating a Rubric
Step 1:
In the desired course go to the rubrics tab.
Step 2:
Click the "+ Add Rubric" button.

Step 3:
Title your rubric and use the "+ Criterion" button to add new Criteria.
To add additional ratings click the "+" that is boxed in red below.
At any given time to edit the Criteria or Ratings click on the pencil icon.
Once the rubric is finished click "Create Rubric"

Adding a Rubric to an Assignment
Step 1:
In the desired course navigate to the Assignment tab.
Step 2:
Click on the desired assignment.
Step 3:
Click the "+ Rubric" Button.
Step 4:
Click "Find a Rubric".
*Note* You can also create a rubric (Create a Rubric Step 3)
Step 5:
Select the desired rubric. Scroll down and click "Use This Rubric".
