Parent Courses

What Is It?

Parent courses are a way for instructors to reduce redundancy in their courses. If requested, the Parent will enroll all students, TAs, and Instructors from the sections of the course into one large Canvas course.  This allows instructors to post material only once, and to grade all the students in the same course.  Parent courses are useful for instructors with many sections in their course, or instructors that are collaborating on a course teaching separate sections.  They function the same as any specific course on Canvas.

How Can I Request It?

The instructor of the course needs to file their request.  After filling out the required info the process of creating a Parent will take around 24 hours to be completed.
