Email Forwarding & Automatic Replies

What is it?

Forwarding allows you to send all their email in one inbox to another email address. That way, you can manage multiple accounts' emails from one inbox. Additionally, you can set up automatic replies for when you are away. This way, people will know when you can't be reached.

Who Can Do It?

Anyone with a Montana Tech email account.

How Do I Setup Forwarding?

*This is under the new Outlook style. The old Outlook style is similar.

Once you are logged in to your school email, click the gear in the upper right corner of the page.

A menu should appear on the right side of the page. At the bottom of this menu, click "View all Outlook settings".

That will open up another menu. Under the Mail section, find "Forwarding".

Select Start Forwarding and enter the email address you'd like to forward to. Also, decide whether you want to keep a copy of the forwarded messages with the box under the address.


How Do I Setup Automatic Replies?

*This is under the new Outlook style. The old Outlook style is similar.

A new menu should appear at the right side of the page. At the bottom of this menu, click "View all Outlook Settings.

In the Mail category. find "Automatic replies".

Click "Turn on automatic replies", then set a date and a reply.
