Introduction to Moodle

What Is It?

Moodle is an Online Learning Management System that allows the classroom to extend onto the web. Your instructor has many options in setting up the Moodle environment, allowing students to access assignments, interact with other students in the course, upload homework, access useful resources, and much more.

Where Can I Access It?

To login to Moodle, you must have your Montana Tech username and password. You can retrieve your username and password here.

  1. To access your Moodle courses, you will always sign in through your MyMTech, Montana Tech's Portal System. You can access MyMTech by clicking the link on the Montana Tech home page. 
  2. Once you click on the MyMTech link, you will be brought to the MyMTech sign in page. Here you will find a list of Montana Tech Events, the current weather, and recent news. You will want to click on 'Sign in' located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. 
  3. On this page, you will find the Central Authentication Service login screen. Enter in your Montana Tech username and password. Once you've entered in your credentials, click 'Login'.
  4. You have successfully logged into your MyMTech! Here you will find a list of your Moodle courses in which you are enrolled in under "Learning". You can access your Moodle course by simply clicking on the name of your class. MyMtech View
  5. By clicking on the name of your Moodle course, a new window will open up in your Internet browser. This new window will allow you access to Moodle. The best way to learn to navigate Moodle is to explore your course.
